BRATTLEBORO >> Arianna Harrison, of Vernon, scored a team-high 14 points and also pulled down nine rebounds during the No. 5 Norwich women's basketball team's 55-51 loss to No. 4 Suffolk University in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference quarterfinal on Tuesday.

Harrison, who is a sophomore guard, started all 26 games for Norwich. She averaged 11.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, and ended up with 72 assists and 41 steals. She went 10-for-48 from beyond the arc and shot 74.4 percent from the free throw line.

The Brattleboro Union High School graduate scored a season-high 32 points when Norwich lost to Johnson State College 71-61 on Dec. 2, 2015. And she snagged 19 boards during a 74-72 loss to Lasell on Jan. 19.

Norwich finished up with a 14-12 mark.

Harrison helped the Colonel girls win 15 games during her senior season at BUHS. Her 2014 teammates were Abbie Lesure, Kayla Savage, Megan Siggins, Daisy Giroux, Aidan Early, Maddy Derosia, Taylor Bird, Meghan Powell, Katie Damian, Nina Goodhue, and Emily Rounds.

The Leland & Gray graduate came off the bench to lead Johnson State College with 15 points and six rebounds during a season-ending 55-52 loss to Castleton University on Feb. 20. JSC wound up with a 12-13 record.

The power forward from Jamaica, Vt. averaged 9.5 points and 6.8 rebounds during her junior year. She also had 29 assists and 27 steals for the Badgers.


Goddard went 8-for-12 from the field and scored a season-high 16 points versus Pine Manor in Johnson State's season opener. She ripped down a season-best 14 rebounds during a game at Husson on Feb. 6.

As a senior with the Rebels, Goddard's teammates were Alex Morrow, Jordan Gouger, Chelby Nystrom, Adrienne Derry, Abby Winrich, Natalia Coelho, Elizabeth Gallup, Haley Buffum, and Casey Williams.
