BRATTLEBORO >> Southern Vermont Painting, Chroma, Walker Farm, and Pancake Design all prevailed in men's basketball league action at the Gibson-Aiken Center on Sunday.

Joel Porter poured in a team-high 16 points as SVP topped Pro Cut Lawn Care 59-54. Lynden Bunker led the way with 22 points in Chroma's 83-58 romp of GS Coating. Oakley Payne-Meyer and Jadi Tavares scored 28 and 27 points respectively as Walker Farm downed Vermont Pressure Wash 98-89. And Adam Hargraves pumped in 30 points, including six treys, to power Pancake past Brattleboro Ford/Subaru 105-63.

On Friday, Vermont Pressure Wash denied Green Mountain Creamery 95-70 and GS Coating defeated GS Precision 74-62. Colby Bonnette went off for 32 points for VPW, while Mickey Stewart finished with 30 to lead GSP.

Nordic skiing

BRATTLEBORO >> Brattleboro Union High School students Liz Morse and Isaac Freitas-Eagan are both on the Vermont U16 elite team and will compete against top skiers from every New England state in Rumford, Maine on March 11-13. Morse and Freitas-Eagan will be competing in Freestyle 5k, Classic 5k, and the team relays.

Brattleboro's Freitas-Eagan, Jonah Koch, Spencer Loggia, and Declan King were all named Marble Valley League All Stars for both boys Freestyle and Classic. Brattleboro's Bella Thurber and Sarah Gallagher were each named MVL All Stars in girls Freestyle.
