Brattleboro second baseman Jocelyn Aither goes to her knees to catch a weak pop up during Saturday's victory over Otter Valley.

BRATTLEBORO >> Hannah Wilson went 4 for 5 at the plate for the second game in a row, helping the Brattleboro varsity softball team to a 14-0 rout of Otter Valley.

Jamie Mahoney followed with three hits, while Hailey Derosia, Devin Millerick, Bridget Duff, Lauren McKenney and Jocelyn Aither all added two hits. Sylvia Patenaude and Emmalee Waite each hit safely.

"It's enjoyable to watch these kids play. They are hitting the ball really well," said BUHS coach Kelly Markol, who has guided the Colonels to three Division 1 state titles in the past seven years.

Wilson and Derosia each drove in four runs as the purple and white improved to 6-1 overall. Mahoney wound up with three RBIs and Duff finished with two of her own.

Inside the circle, Wilson fired a three-hit shutout. The senior fanned eight and walked just one.

"She did a nice job. She is hitting her spots really, really well," Markol told the Reformer.

Left fielder Mariah Powers made a couple of nice catches for the Colonels, who will host rival MAU on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
