BRATTLEBORO >> Brattleboro Union High School varsity girls lacrosse player Kira McCloskey received 25 votes to earn Reformer Athlete of the Week honors for May 1-7.

Leland & Gray's freshman pitcher earned a victory over previously undefeated Poultney. He struck out four, walked two and scattered four hits during the Rebels' 4-1 decision.
The Brattleboro sprinter won the 200 and finished second in the 100 at the Connecticut Valley Conference Championships in Langdon, N.H. She led the Colonel girls to a team bronze, behind champion Monadnock and runner-up Lebanon.
The first baseman had three hits and drove in five runs to power the Rebels to a 19-4 rout of Arlington in Townshend. The Leland & Gray slugger doubled twice during her team's 10-run fifth frame and had another extra-base hit in the sixth.
