TOWNSHEND >> Walker Hamer and Nick Morrow each went 2 for 3 and combined for three runs batted in as the top-seeded Leland & Gray baseball team trumped No. 16 Montpelier, 12-2, in Tuesday's Division 3 playdown game.
"We played solid defense and the bats were going. We didn't get a ton of hits, but we're putting the ball in play," stated Rebels coach Eric Durocher, who got at least one hit from eight of the nine batters in his order.
Casper Rowe fanned five and allowed just two hits in five innings of work for the hosts. Max Cramp struck out two in relief.
