BURLINGTON >> DJ Snide won the Vermont State Men's Decathlon on Monday and Tuesday at the University of Vermont, leading Bellows Falls to a bronze in the team standings.

Snide ended up with 100 points in the event that consists of the 100, long jump, shot put, high jump, 400, 110 hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1500. Mount Mansfield's Jonathan Fisher and Woodstock's Bill Wood rounded out the top three in the individual standings.

The Terriers placed third behind Mount Mansfield and Missisquoi Valley. BF's Shane Clark took 11th, Nate Fairbrother wound up 28th and Chris McKeen ended up in the 34th position.

Bellows Falls finished eighth in the women's team standings, 73 points behind champion Saint Johnsbury. Brigid Hodsden (26th), Keri Ticino (28th) and Hailey Covillion (34th) competed for the Terriers.

At the New England meet in New Britain, Conn., Snide was 10th in the 110 hurdles, Clark finished 14th in the javelin, Reno Tuttle placed 24th in the discus, Keri Ticino was 30th in the javelin, and BF's 4x800 relay team of Reaghan Baldasaro, Sophie Hyslop, Fallon Vancor and Megan Banik took 30th.

For Brattleboro, Kai Boyd placed 19th in the javelin at New Englands. Jasper Reed finished seventh in the triple jump and 19th in the long jump.
