MILTON >> Brendan Kendall returned an interception 95 yards for a score and the Bellows Falls varsity football team earned a 33-8 victory over Milton on Friday night.
Ahead 14-0 and with Milton driving for a potential touchdown, Kendall stepped in front of a Nick Laware pass and went the distance for a pick-six. The defensive score put Bellows Falls up 20-0 with 2:32 left in the second quarter.
It was the fifth win in as many games for the Purple Gang, which has also defeated Springfield, Mount Abraham, North Country and Mount Mansfield.
Jacob Lober ran for 90 yards and three TDs on 12 carries while Jahyde Bullard put up 68 of his 80 yards on the ground in the first quarter. Lober's final rushing score came from 1 yard out on a fourth-down play with 3.3 seconds left in regulation.
Bellows Falls opened the contest with a six-play, 85-yard scoring drive. Bullard accounted for 56 yards on the drive, finishing it off with a 24-yard, untouched TD jaunt.
The Terriers finished with 306 rushing yards and another 30 through the air. Milton was held to 150 yards from scrimmage.
Bellows Falls (5-0) will play at Lyndon on Saturday at 1 p.m.
