17th Sunday after Pentecost to be observed at First Congregational Church in West B


WEST BRATTLEBORO -- Sept. 15 is the 17th Sunday after Pentecost at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 880 Western Ave. in West Brattleboro. The Rev. Joseph Amico’s sermon will be "Worthy and Full of Acceptance" based on Timothy 1:12-17. Organist and pianist George Soulos will share a prelude of "Andante Religioso" by Alexander Borodin and a postlude of "Risoluto" by Bruno Huhn. The choir will share an offertory of "Faith Is the Victory." The congregational hymns this week are "Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise," "Come, O Fount of Every Blessing," and "There’s a Wideness in God’s Mercy."

Sunday worship at First Congregational is at 10 a.m. preceded by choir rehearsal at 9 a.m. Following worship there is a coffee hour. For a ride to worship call 802-257-4408.

Ongoing weekly events include the Prayer Fellowship at 8:30 a.m. Sundays and the Handicraft group on Tuesdays at 1 p.m.

Everyone is welcome. Church office hours are Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
