3 area runners compete in Maine
There were 258 runners, representing five different states, in the girls race. Brattleboro Union High School's Sarah Gallagher wound up in the 121st position in 20:07 and was the 20th finisher from the Green Mountain State.
The boys race drew 253 runners. Brattleboro's Isaac Freitas-Eagan took 68th overall in 16:42 and was the eighth Vermont finisher.
Snowshoe for the Cure
STRATTON MOUNTAIN — Online registration is open for Susan G. Komen New England Snowshoe for the Cure Vermont, a 3K and 5K walk, 3K race, and Kids' Snowshoe Dash. Snowshoe for the Cure will be held on Jan. 21, 2018 at the Sun Bowl.
Snowshoe for the Cure allows Komen New England to support thousands of local families through funding for critical breast care services and groundbreaking research. There are many ways to get involved. Participants can race or walk as a team or an individual, volunteer, donate, or become a corporate sponsor to help Komen reach its Bold Goal of reducing breast cancer deaths by 50 percent in the United States by 2026. Snowshoe for the Cure Vermont is a family friendly event with fun for everyone.
