African drum and dance classes new time, new location

Posted

African Dance Vermont has been offering drum and dance classes every Wednesday evening in Brattleborofor over a decade. They have been held at The Brattleboro Stone Church, 210 Main Street except for the past three months while The Stone Church has been under renovation. We are very excited to announce that the classes are being held at the church again with a brand new hardwood dance floor, two new bathrooms and other improvements!

Raoul Ombang will be teaching a drum class once again on Wednesdays at the new time of 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The cost is $10 and there are drums available for those who need them.

Ombang will also be teaching the dance class at the new time of 7:30 to 9 p.m. The cost is $15. There is live drumming once the choreography is taught. Samba Kane from Senegal comes most weeks to drum. All levels are welcome to both the drum and dance classes. Drop-ins are welcome. There is no registration for either class.

For more information and to see the line-up of guest teachers coming this summer see: www.africandancevt.com or call 802-258-6475.
