TOWNSHEND -- Senior Taylor Aines threw a three-hitter and her Otter Valley softball team topped Leland & Gray, 10-1, in Monday’s make-up game.

"She’s a good pitcher. We got one hit against her last time. Our goal was to get five hits against her this time, and we got three," said Rebels coach Tammy Claussen. "They hit well from top to bottom in their order. They are a solid team."

Emily Thibault, Erica Cutts and Emily Stockwell all finished with one hit for Leland & Gray. Elizabeth Symanski fanned five, walked two and gave up 14 hits.

The 5-8 Rebels will play at Twin Valley today at 4:30 p.m. Leland & Gray is ranked eighth in Division 3 behind Green Mountain (11-0), Oxbow (12-0), Richford (11-1), Williamstown (5-3), Enosburg Falls (7-5), Windsor (6-6), and Bellows Falls (5-5), while the 5-8 Wildcats are currently ranked ninth in Division 4.
