Applications available at Marlboro College Graduate School for Get On Board program
BRATTLEBORO -- Marlboro College Graduate School announces that applications are now available for its Get On Board Windham County program. The eight-month program places young professionals as non-voting fellows on local non-profit boards.
Get on Board has a dual mission: to provide skills development and networking opportunities for young professionals while supporting Windham County nonprofits. Fellows and host boards receive training in Board Roles and Responsibilities, Fundraising, Nonprofit Financial Management, Conflict Resolution and Strategic Thinking. At the end of program, many nonprofits choose to invite Fellows to continue as full board members.
This Marlboro program is offered in collaboration with Latchis Arts, SeVEDS, United Way of Windham County, and Youth Services. The program begins with a Saturday retreat on Oct. 19 and then meets monthly on Wednesday evenings.
To be eligible, Fellows must be residents of Windham County, aged 22 to 44 years old, seeking opportunities to meet people and serve the community. Nonprofits must have at least eight board members and operate in Windham County. Applications for fellows and nonprofit hosts are due on Sept.15.
There will be two informational sessions about the program, at the Graduate School on Aug. 26 at noon and at Latchis 4 on Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. To learn more, go to gs.marlboro.edu/boards or call Kate Jellema at 802-451-7510.
