April 27 is Star Island Sunday at Centre Congregational Church


BRATTLEBORO -- The Second Sunday of Easter, April 27, at Centre Congregational Church in downtown Brattleboro is designated as Star Island Sunday, with worship at 10 a.m. The Rev. Carra McFadden will lead worship and the meditation will be offered by Christopher Gray.

The church has a long tradition of families and youth participating in its summer program, located in the Isle of Shoals off New Hampshire. This year’s program will take place July 26 to Aug. 9.

A new outdoor banner has been installed: "God Is Still Speaking," a gift from First Congregational Church, West Brattleboro, when the Centre Church voted to become Open and Affirming. A new Peace Pole has also been installed in the garden by the front door.

The Spring Jumble Sale will take place in Memorial Hall today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Items of all kinds will be available, though clothing is for spring and summer only.

Centre Church is a congregation of the United Church of Christ and is located at 193 Main St., Brattleboro. The church is a Just Peace Church and is Open and Affirming.
