Area players, coaches earn MVL honors

BRATTLEBORO >> After helping their varsity basketball teams earn first-round home playoff games, Chris Brown (Twin Valley boys) and Terry Merrow (Leland & Gray girls) were named Marble Valley League coaches of the year.

Five different Brattleboro players earned MVL A Division honors. Dylan DeJordy and Gabby Carpenter were named to their respective 1st Team, while Josh Hanson, Devin Millerick and Morgan Derosia were all given Honorable Mention.

Twin Valley's Chris Brown is the MVL boys C Division Coach of the Year. Four area players made that division's First Team, including Twin Valley's DJ Lazelle and Kyle Murdock, Leland & Gray's Nick Morrow, and Shane Clark of Bellows Falls. Earning Honorable Mention are: Twin Valley's Brett Swanson, Skyler Boyd and Justin Hicks, along with Cam Joy and Zack Streeter of Bellows Falls.

Leland & Gray's Terry Merrow is the MVL girls C Divison Coach of the Year. Making the First Team are Twin Valley's Kirra and Tayler Courchesne, Leland & Gray's Rachel Borgesen, and Hannah Kelly of Bellows Falls. Earning Honorable Mention are: Leland & Gray's Jessie Stockwell, Caroline Tietz and Hannah Buffum; Twin Valley's Teya Johnson; and the Bellows Falls duo of Murphy Hicks and Keri Ticino.
