In Brattleboro...

CHRISTMAS TREES: The Brattleboro Rotary Club’s 48th Annual Christmas Tree Fundraiser begins on Saturday, Nov. 24

Since 1965, the Brattleboro Rotary Club has sold Christmas trees. This year, all net proceeds will benefit the Gateway Foundation and fund scholarships for local students.

Vermont-grown trees of all shapes and sizes will be sold in front of Brattleboro Bowl on Putney Road. Sales will continue until the trees are gone.

The average cost of the trees is $40.

During November, trees will be sold beginning at 11 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, Thursday and Friday. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday sales continue until 7 p.m.

During December, the hours will be: Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Thursday and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

FOOD FOR YOUTH: The Boys & Girls Club of Brattleboro at 17 Flat St. is offering free dinners to youth and their families four nights a week. The club serves youth ages 6 to 18 in the greater Brattleboro area. Members and prospective members of the club are invited to enjoy a free meal with their families on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 5:30.

In Chesterfield, N.H. Š

HOLIDAY BAZAAR: The Chesterfield Girl Scouts will be holding a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 24, at the Chesterfield Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Items for sale will be beaded jewelry, kissing balls, center pieces, wreaths, purses/totes, sun-dyed scarves, alpaca-made clothes, decorative plates, and various other crafts.

In Stratton...

SKI AND BOARD SALE: Stratton Mountain School will host its annual Ski and Snowboard Sale on Friday, Nov. 23, and Saturday, Nov. 24.

The sale will feature used race-stock skis and high-end snowboard equipment being sold by SMS athletes and coaches. In addition, five alpine, Nordic, apparel and snowboard retailers from New England will be on site to sell equipment at special discount prices.

There’s a $5-per-adult entry fee (children are free) for the first two hours of the sale on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. There will be raffles and door prizes both days.

Anyone interested in selling their used, but good condition equipment, apparel or gear is welcome to drop equipment off on Friday, Nov. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. No "straight" skis or used helmets will be accepted. Staff will be on hand to assist consignees with pricing and equipment evaluation. SMS reserves the right to refuse equipment that is too old or in poor condition.

In Walpole, N.H. ...

CHRISTMAS CRAFTS FAIR: The Walpole Fire & EMS annual Christmas Crafts Fair will be held on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Walpole Fire Station. There will be over 30 crafters with a variety of handmade items. A handmade queen-sized quilt will be raffled with proceeds going to the Walpole Fire & EMS.

In West Brattleboro...

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: The 34th annual Christmas Bazaar at the First Congregational Church, 880 Western Ave., will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds will go to benefit church projects.

There will be a wide variety of handcrafted and homemade items, including plain or decorated wreaths, partridge berry bowls, Christmas tree ornaments, house decorations, knitted or crocheted gloves, mittens, hats and sweaters and doll clothing that will fit American Girl dolls.

There will be a drawing of 14 items including a rustic raised flower bed, several quilted items, a crocheted afghan, a painting, several table runners, two gift cards for local grocery stores and one for gasoline.

The drawing will be at 2 p.m. There will be a special table where children can purchase inexpensive items for their own Christmas shopping.

The food sale will feature cookies, cakes, muffins, pies, brownies, baked beans , fudge, jams, jellies and preserves. There will be a lunch, featuring the church’s renowned corn chowder, sandwiches, hot dogs, quiche and beverages.

In Westminster...

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: The Women’s Fellowship will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar at the First Congregational Church of Westminster on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Christmas Shop will be open all day and will include crafts, candles, gifts, handmade items, collectables, and homemade baked goods. At 11 a.m. Santa will visit. Children of all ages are invited to do a craft project and take a photos with Santa. Prints will be available for a donation.

A large Vermont basket will be raffled. All the items in the basket, from candles and pottery to syrup and cheese, are made in Vermont. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time from any of the ladies at the church for $1 each or six for $5. The drawing will be held at 2 p.m.

Also, The Christmas Café will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu will include soup, sandwiches, chips, coffee, tea, cocoa and punch.
