RESCUE SQUAD SEEKS HELP: The Londonderry Volunteer Rescue Squad (LVRS) is looking for volunteers for a one-day project on Sunday, Feb. 3.

Volunteers are needed between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to help label and stuff 10,000 letters for the rescue squad’s annual benefit and fundraiser. Lunch and snacks will be provided.

LVRS serves Bondville, Jamaica, Landgrove, Londonderry, Peru, South Londonderry, Stratton, Weston, Windham, and Winhall. The funds raised will cover the squad’s operating expenses, training, ambulance maintenance and replacement, and the purchase of equipment and supplies.

LVRS is located at 6068 Route 100 in Londonderry, about 1/3 mile north of the intersection of Routes 100 and 11. For more information, contact Nicole Fillion at 802-558-0397 (days).

In Putney...

MYANMAR TALK: Howard Prussack will give a presentation on his agricultural trip to Myanmar on Thursday, Jan. 31, at 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Putney Library. Prussack, who is co-owner of High Meadows Farm and Greenhouses in Westminster West, recently completed a three-week assignment with Winrock International’s Farmer-to-Farmer Program in Myanmar.

Prussack traveled to several villages in Myanmar to assist the Myanmar Business Coalition on AIDS to help increase incomes of onion farmers.

He will talk and show slides about his agricultural work as well as his impressions of Myanmar.
