Artist talk by Jackie Abrams: Textile Travels in Africa


Presenting a visual journey to Ghana, Namibia, and Uganda titled, Textile Travels (and more!) in Africa will be local basket artist and teacher, Jackie Abrams is set to take place on Sunday, May 15 at 7: p.m. at Mitchell Giddings Fine Arts, 183 Main St., Brattleboro.

Abrams will present images and tales from her travels to the workshops of Kente cloth weavers, following the steps of glass bead makers, and seeing basket makers as they work. The public is invited to experience and enjoy the culture, the people, and the places.

Presented by Jackie Abrams and Brattleboro West Arts, the talk is free of charge and open to the public

Mitchell • Giddings Fine Arts features works by midcareer and established artists in a variety of media. It is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
