Assault and robbery in Brattleboro leaves man hospitalized


BRATTLEBORO >> Police are investigating an assault and robbery that occurred Tuesday, leaving a victim hospitalized.

At about 9:54 p.m., officers from the Brattleboro Police Department went to a Canal Street motel after receiving a call reporting the incident. A 49-year-old man was transported to the emergency room at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital for serious injuries, police said in a press release.

"The case has been transferred to our detective division and we are actively investigating several leads," said Brattleboro Police Capt. Mark Carignan. "Additional information, including anything related to a suspect, will be released as appropriate based on how the case progresses."
