Author Cheryl Wilfong to sign her new book
"Garden Wisdom 365 Days" is full of a year's worth of fresh, funny, and wise inspirations that remind us to practice mindfulness in the garden. By using Nature as a metaphor for human nature, Wilfong humorously draws our attention to the transience of gardens and of our very lives. Just open the book to the page with today's date.
The day-by-day entries are compiled from Wilfong's award-winning blog, TheMeditativeGardener.blogspot.com, which was recently named one of "52 Meditation Blogs You Have to Read in 2017." Her blog also won a Blogisattva award.
The reader can reduce stress and increase happiness by going to the garden, or simply by reading a page of Garden Wisdom and reflecting on wisdom gleaned there. Wilfong teaches mindfulness at Vermont Insight Meditation Center when she isn't outdoors in her gardens at home in Dummerston.
The witty prose of "Garden Wisdom 365 Days" is a fun, quick read. It makes a great gift for your favorite gardener.
Wilfong joins nature writers Patti Smith, "The Beavers of Popple's Pond," and Mark Mikulas, "A Beginner's Guide to Recognizing the Trees of the Northeast," at the book signing. Enjoy Christmas cookies and cider too. Proceeds from the book sale will benefit the Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center.
Dianich Gallery is located at 139 Main St. (down the alley).
