BAND OF LOVE PERFORMING, MAKING VIDEO AT WHETSTONE STATION
BRATTLEBORO -- The Band of Love invites the public to a free concert at Whetstone Station, 36 Bridge St., on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 9 p.m.
Jay Cook, bassist and leader of Alafia (formerly known as Fenibo), assembled The Band of Love as a pop music project. The band wants to make a video showcasing its repertoire, which ranges from classic party songs by Aretha Franklin and Bob Marley to modern hit-makers like Amy Winehouse and Lady Gaga.
The Band of Love features Samirah Evans (vocals), Julia J. Slone (vocals, keyboards), Jon Weeks (saxophone), Jared Quinn (guitar) and Joe Fitzpatrick (drums) in addition to Cook.
"The talent we’ve assembled and songs we’ve selected are a sure fire recipe for keeping you on the dance floor all night," says Cook. "We are appealing to all of our fans, friends and anyone who loves to dance to be part of our video."
