Bantams blast Wilbraham
BRATTLEBORO -- The Brattleboro Hockey Association Bantams won their away game on Saturday with a 3-0 shutout of Wilbraham Twin Meadows. Goals were scored by Bradley Fellows, Hannah Curtiss, and Daniel McMahon.
The following day at home, the Bantams lost to a tough Westfield team, 9-3. Gavin Flynn scored two goals, and Daniel McMahon one, with assists by Kenny Olchowski, Miles Hiler and Pete Paasche.
The Peewees lost to Westfield 5-2 on Saturday, with goals coming from Dylan Reilly and Aiden Kindopp, with Dimitri Seger assisting. At home on Sunday, the team cruised to an 11-0 victory. Gavin Flynn tallied a hat trick in the opening period and added three assists. Ryan Roof had a goal and five assists. Joseph Koes had two goals and an assist, Aubrey Goodband two goals, Jakob Curtiss a goal and two assists, Dimitri Seger a goal and an assist, Anthony Palomba a goal and Dylan Reilly an assist.
The Brattelboro Squirt Team (sponsored by Foard Panel) had a competitive weekend of hockey playing the Springfield Capitals both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s game was a 1-1 tie with Andrew Peloso scoring for Brattleboro and a solid game for Austin Wood in net. Sunday’s game at home ended in a 5-3 loss for Brattleboro with Mason Foard scoring his team’s first goal, with two more from Alex Hudon. Andrew Peloso, Nathan Powers and Tyler Higley helped out with the assists.
The BHA Mite North team continued to improve last weekend as they played a very strong game against the Pioneer Valley Lightning. Torin Kindopp flashed a lot of leather in goal, aided by a strong defensive game from Lauren Carpenter who won the battles for the loose pucks. The offense was led by the water bug Leo Bodett and the finishing touch of Jack Rockefeller.

BRATTLEBORO -- In game no. 1 of the women’s basketball league played Monday night, Houghton triumphed over Clews Building & Renovations, with Brittany Fry leading the charge with 27 points, which included 5 three-pointers and six shots inside. Teammate Allie Houghton followed up with a dozen points, and Anna Lashway had nine.
On the Clew side, Bri Moore showed up to play with 12 points. Top scorers also include teammates Sam Bernard (5) and Kristen H. (4).
JA JUBB 49, Twilight 39
Ashley Gomario brought it home for JA JUBB, scoring 15 points to give her team a win, Monday in game 2. Teammate Shelby Wheelock hit three shots down low to tally 11 points, Brittini Pelczarski put away six, and Kirsten Kinsmith and Connie Russel each chipped in four points.
Team Twilight’s Denise Shanti took it to JA JUBB with 18 points of her own, helped by Heidi Bohn’s eight points under the hoop, and Jennifer Harbout’s five.

Cota & Cota / Brown Ent. 51
Corey Bauer went to town in game 1 with 23 points for his Sporty’s / Lawton team Sunday night in men’s hoops at Gibson-Aiken. Teammates Kyle Bauer finished with 17 points, while Bernard Jacobs scored 13 and Brendon Clark had 11.
Cota & Cota / Brown Enterprise’s Troy Snell was the top earner for his team, racking up 14 points while shooting perfect from the line. Shawn Goodell (8 points), Jeremy Thomas (7), and Craig McCollough and Steve Brown each put away six points apiece.

Game 2 went to the green thumbs from Walker Farm, with the team’s Jesse Woosley scoring 23 points, mostly from inside the paint. Pete Stickney added 13 points to the board throughout his evening, while Robby Gesnic (10 points), Rich Korson (11), and Ernest Cepada managed nine.
Matthew Stewart was the top point fetcher for Farnum, scoring 14 points along with Ed Bartlett to match. Ian Boyd put away seven points, while Brandon Ryan and Nate Archer each had six.

In game 3, Rice managed a win over CHSV, with Jim Layer scoring 24 of his winning team’s points. Steve Kapnal (14 points), Brian Mueller (8), and Rich Carrol (7) all pitched in for the W.
High scorers for CHSV include Zane Bullins with 16, Greg Hecht with 14, and Danial Santos with 12. Peter Schor and Adam Smith each five points apiece.
The Marina 81, Deerhill Inn / Fat City Motor Worx 76
Luke Overman was the man Sunday, carrying his Marina team to a slight victory, scoring 22 points (including 4 three-pointers), while teammates Travis O’Deane scored 18, and Amos Ireland and Matt Lafland managed 11 points for the cause.
Fat City’s Josh Bartholomew hammered home 32 big points to lead his Div. 2 team. Nate Gleason put away 13 points to aid in the battle, with Paul Trudeau scoring 11. Jeff Chartier and Gary Castle each had six points on the evening.
Perra Law 83,
WB Maintenance 75
Jarrod James racked up 24 points Sunday to give his Perra Law team a win over WB Maintenance. Jamie Garfield followed James with 16 points, and manager Rich Perra put away 11 points. Dan Braden finished with eight, and Andrew Leonard and Brad Venice had five points by game’s end.
Keith Lyman (26 points) and Kenny Howe (25) were the top point scorers for WB.
Chad’s Team 97,
Local Sports Team 93
In a close matchup, Chad’s Jeff Dixon put 36 points on the board to carry his team to a Div. 1 win. Christian Corey also went big with 30 points (splashing three 3’s). Other hoopsters include Jim Gray (11 points) and Eric Libardoni with nine.
Local Sports Team’s Kris Kachlemeyer finished up with 34 points (10 three-point makes), while Teddy Kruston (23 points) and Trey Sparks (11) chipped in.
