Bellows Falls Senior Center holds annual picnic and meeting at Alyson’s Orchards
WALPOLE, N.H. -- The Bellows Falls Area Senior Center held its yearly picnic and membership meeting at Alyson’s Orchards in Walpole on Sept. 20. More than 125 area seniors enjoyed an afternoon of good food, catered by Fitz, Vogt, and entertainment, sponsored by TransCanada. Alyson’s donated its facility for the event.
At the annual membership meeting, Hugh Haggerty, president of the board of directors, summarized the Center’s activities for the year.
Five directors were elected for three-year terms (Dorothy Hogan, Ernest Hogan, Frederick Waryas, Bea Fisher, Walter Jennison), and one director was elected to serve for one year (Janet Dube).
Pat Noble, executive director, thanked the 70-plus volunteers for their 4,100 hours of service to the Center this past year. The Senior of the Year Award was presented to Ernest Hogan.
