Benefit event celebrates the life of little Kamil
BRATTLEBORO -- The tragic, early death of a 3-year-old Brattleboro child, Kamil Jumaane Nashoba Rune Middleton Burrows, brings our community together once again. To help support the family through this painful time, a fundraiser and a celebration of life is planned for Friday at 5 p.m., at the Vermont Jazz Center in the Cotton Mill. This event is a celebration of all things enjoyed by Kamil: music, dancing, food and friends.
The evening will begin with one of Kamil’s favorite activities, drumming, led by Jason Grimes with many musicians to follow -- Red Heart the Ticker, Luz Elena and Rebirth and more.
Entrance is by suggested donation of $10 per person, or $25 for a family. Snacks will be available, but feel free to bring a dish to share. No alcoholic beverages are permitted. A silent auction will offer another chance to contribute to this family’s healing. Bidding will take place from 5 to 9 p.m., and will feature handmade items from local artisans in addition to gift certificates from local shops and restaurants. Donations will help Ingrid and Ade Burrows cover medical bills and travel expenses and, if funds allow, the sandbox at the Brattleboro Area Farmer’s Market will be rejuvenated and dedicated to Kamil.
Those who are unable to attend but would still like to contribute, may donate via Paypal or check. Paypal donations can be made at ingridandade @gmail.com, or checks can be made out to "Ingrid Burrows" and mailed to Leah Mutz, 79 Harvest Hill Road, Brattleboro VT 05301.
