BF girls give ball, game away

WESTMINSTER — The Bellows Falls varsity girls basketball team turned the ball over 36 times and lost to Proctor, 47-27, on Wednesday night.

"The Terriers did many things well, but turning the ball over was the killer," stated BF coach Joe Goodhue.

Abby Mckearin went off for a game-high 25 points to lead the winners. Proctor improved to 4-0 on the season.

Hannah Kelly paced the hosts with a dozen points and nine rebounds. Molly Kelly added six points for the 1-2 Terriers, who will host Black River tonight at 7.

FAIR HAVEN >> In Wednesday's three-team meet, the Terriers started out with a 33-18 loss to MAU's B team. Julian Christiansen, DJ Snide and Jake Lober all scored points for Bellows Falls in that matchup.

The Terriers then tied Fair Haven, 18-18, but due to their advantage in head-to-head contests BF was awarded the victory. Snide and Lober again prevailed for the purple squad.

Bellows Falls will head to New York for the Granville Lion Open on Saturday. And the Terriers will then host a meet on Dec. 23 at 6 p.m.
