BFUHS National Honor Society welcomes 13 new members
WESTMINSTER -- The Bellows Falls Union High School Jesse A. Judd-Marilee B. Huntoon Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) welcomed 13 new members in their induction ceremony recently. Principal Hodsden spoke about the qualities it takes to be considered in NHS, including Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Character and Citizenship. He said that each of these new inductees do not exhibit one of these qualities, rather they must exemplify all of these qualities to be considered for membership. Latin teacher Christina Clements delivered welcoming remarks to students reminding them that this is the beginning and an end and that many more of these momentous occasions will come and go in their lives in the months and years ahead. Clements remarked that each milestone in life is followed by a "but then ... the next chapter, the next adventure, the next milestone is achieved."
The new inductees were introduced by present members of the NHS. Each were presented with a NHS pin and membership card and took the membership pledge along with existing members.
A reception followed for all members and guests of the National Honor Society.
