Bits and Bites: Raise a glass to local record store day

Join Whetstone Brewery and The Moment Records on Saturday to celebrate Record Store Day 2016.

To celebrate the day, the local record store — which will have more than 150 exclusive Record Store Day titles on order along with its regular stock of "thousands upon thousands" of vinyl LP's, 45's and 78's — and the brewery have created "Hop Fidelity." The beer is a double IPA brewed up just this once for the celebration.

Stop by the shop, at 143 Main St., Brattleboro, starting at 3 p.m. for a free tasting. Want more? You can also purchase 12-ounce pours. Local chocolatiers Tavernier Chocolates will also be on hand with some mendiants to be handed out during the tasting.

Get hands on

The Berkshire Food Co-op will transform the BFC Community Room into a center of sensory exploration with doughs of various kinds for kids to get their hands in, along with taste tests from every color of the rainbow from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Kids are invited to stop in any time during this free event, which does require registration as space is limited.

Get your fill of pancakes

The Battenkill Grange 487 will hold a pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Bailey Hall on Ice Pond Road in Arlington. The menu includes pancakes, real maple syrup, scrambled eggs, sausage, home fries, sausage gravy and biscuits with coffee, milk and juice.
