Grilling techniques

The Brattleboro Food Co-op will hold a class on grilling foods from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, in the Cooking Classroom at the co-op, 7 Canal St., Brattleboro, Vt.

Learn about rubs and marinades to flavor meats or vegetables, ways to optimize your use of the grill, how to take proper temperatures and how to make the perfect grill marks. Be prepared to sample some food as well.

The cost is $7 for BFC shareholders and $10 for non-shareholders. Registration is requested; 802-246-2821 or

Gallery Walk tasting

The Brattleboro Food Co-op will offer a Free Tasting of Wines and appetizers from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. during Gallery Walk on Friday, July 8, at the co-op, 7 Canal St., Brattleboro, Vt..

Sample wines from our large selection paired with delicious appetizers. Free to patrons over 21 with a valid ID. For more information, 802-246-2821 or

Free kids' class

The Kid's Science Explorers Club, guided by artist and environmental activist Danielle Baudrand from the Plastic Bag Project, will explore technology, art, science and activism from 10 to 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 9, in the Brattleboro Food Co-op Cooking Classroom, 7 Canal St., Brattleboro, Vt.

The club meets the second Saturday of every month through August.

Kids' gardening class

A free class for kids, Garden Fun, will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, at the Brattleboro Food Co-op Patio Garden, 7 Canal St., Brattleboro, Vt.

Come help plant, weed, plan and water the Whetstone Café Patio Garden, so that we can enjoy herbs and flowers all summer long. Bring gloves and waterproof boots.
