Blanket Sunday at First Baptist Church
BRATTLEBORO -- Feb. 10 is Blanket Sunday. For more than 60 years congregations across the U.S. have been responding to Jesus’ call to be neighbor to those in need, in partnership with Church World Service. We remember the many uses of these blended wool and cotton blankets which are purchased specially made for Church World Service. The blankets can be used mainly as a blanket, but also are used as shelter, or to carry belongings in when fleeing from wars and turmoil, also used as stretchers and provide shade. These blankets still only cost $5 each.
Worship and Sunday School begin at 10 a.m.. Ash Wednesday Service will be at 7 p.m. on Feb. 13.
A Lenten Bible study is planned beginning Feb. 25 through March 18. The First Baptist Church is located at 190 Main St., Brattleboro.
