BMAC hosts national awards program

Posted
Brattleboro Museam and Arts Center is serving as the Vermont affiliate for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, a prestigious national program that recognizes and nurtures the creative talents of teen artists and writers. In addition to seeing their work in print or displayed in a museum, students can win college scholarships and other prizes.

Students in grades 7 through 12 are eligible to submit creative work in 26 categories of art and/or writing. There is no limit to the number of entries an individual may submit, as long as the work was created in calendar year 2017. The deadline for submissions is Dec. 14.

Vermont entries will be judged regionally by experts in the fields of art and writing. The 2018 Awards will be announced here on or before Jan. 31.

All Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention regional awards will be exhibited at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center Feb. 17 through March 10. An Awards Ceremony will take place Saturday, March 10 at noon.
