BMC moving to new digs

BMC is on the move It's true. The Brattleboro Music Center (BMC) is on track to purchase the Winston Prouty Center this June and realize a long-held dream to have a home of its own.

The new BMC campus will have ample space for student and faculty recitals, two multi-use classrooms, a music library and 12 teaching studios, several with two pianos. There will even be a studio for percussion - one of many new offerings. And, best of all, the design of the new music center will feature high-quality acoustics and soundproofing throughout – a BMC first!

Located on Guilford Street, just across from Living Memorial Park in Brattleboro, the new BMC will be on one level and fully accessible. We will break ground this summer in time to move from Walnut Street in June 2017, just in time for the BMC's many summer camps and workshops.

Fanfare will have monthly updates about the building project and about the Music Moves Capital Campaign and the many generous supporters who are making this next chapter in the BMC's history the most exciting one yet.

The current Winston Prouty school will be transformed to create the new 10,510 square-foot Music School.
