Board of Ed chairman to head Brattleboro development group
BRATTLEBORO (AP) - The chairman of the Vermont Board of Education is serving as interim executive director of the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation.
Stephan Morse is succeeding Patricia Moulton Powden, who has been tapped by Gov. Peter Shumlin to serve as secretary of the state Agency of Commerce and Community Development.
Morse is a former Speaker of the Vermont House. He also served for many years as director of the Windham Foundation.
The credit corporation is expected to play a strong role in developing projects for funding from a five-year, $10 million payment to the state from Entergy Vermont Yankee.
