Bomb threat closes Route 9
Route 9 in West Brattleboro was closed for about 90 minutes Friday night while the Brattleboro Police Department responded to a bomb threat at the Dollar General Store.
Route 9 was shut down at about 8:25 p.m. Friday, and the Dollar General, along with a few surrounding buildings, were evacuated while the police investigated the scene. The road was reopened just before 10 p.m.
Brattleboro Fire Department and Liquor Control assisted with the incident.
The police did not release any more information, but there were similar bomb threats called in to Dollar General Stores in New York, Kansas, Colorado, Thursday and Friday.
The Brattleboro Police Department had no further information Sunday.
