WINOOSKI >> The Brattleboro Babe Ruth 14-year-old All-Star baseball team was ahead of Franklin County 14-10 when Friday's state tournament game was suspended due to darkness in the bottom of the sixth.

"We're hitting the ball well. We are swinging at strikes and putting the bat on the ball," said Brattleboro manager Sam Kilelee.

Timmy Velasquez, Chris Frost, Shane Cyr and Darwin Holcombe all have a couple of hits for Brattleboro. Andrew Peloso pitched the first four innings and Frost is now pitching in relief.

"Frost is pounding the strike zone. He is throwing very well right now and keeping them off balance with his curve," noted Kilelee.

The game will resume on Friday at 5 p.m.
