Brattleboro bests Hilltoppers, 4-2


SAINT JOHNSBURY — Declan Lonergan had a hat trick on Wednesday and the Brattleboro Union High School varsity boys ice hockey team topped host Saint Johnsbury, 4-2.

Lonergan scored one goal in each period, with two of them being set up by Mason Powers and the other assisted by Daniel McMahon and Bradley Fellows. McMahon added a shorthanded goal in the third frame.

Brattleboro goalie Nick Perusse finished with 17 saves. Chris Sourgiadakis made 28 stops for the Hilltoppers, who got burials from Christian Kapoukrandis and Mikhail Sourgiadakis.

The Colonels will host Mount Mansfield on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. at Memorial Park.
