Brattleboro Brown Bag schedule


BRATTLEBORO >> All Brown Bag Lunch Presentations take place from noon to 1 p.m. at the Robert H. Gibson River Garden, 157 Main St. and are free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, Nov. 24, hear Franz Robert play piano. He began playing jazz when he discovered the music of Fats Waller and James P. Johnson at the age of 14. He switched to a full-time focus on jazz at 15, studying in-depth with Eugene Uman, director of the Vermont Jazz Center. Since then, he has been featured in the "Prodigy Concert" series of the Pittsfield City Jazz Festival with his trio, made the Vermont All-State Jazz Big Band, and performed at various venues throughout New England and New York City.

On Wednesday, Nov. 25, local singer and songwriter from Walpole, N.H., Daniel Hartigan, plays folk blues music. His influence comes from Fela Kuti, Junior Kimbrough, Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Xavier Rudd, Adele, Janis Joplin, The Doors, and many others. Daniel is also a Permaculture Designer who strives to make earth a better place for generations to come.

On Thursday, Nov. 26, partake in the Annual Free Brattleboro Community Thanksgiving Dinner. This family friendly buffet dinner will be held at the River Garden from noon to 5 p.m. Great food, company, and music. Sponsored by Strolling of the Heifers.

During November, the Gallery at The River Garden will feature The Golden Cage by Vermont Folklife Center and The Beauty of Relaxation by Maureen Mansfield.
