Brattleboro, Chesterfield police assist in capture of inmate escapees
CHESTERFIELD, N.H. — Escapees from the New Hampshire Prison for Men in Concord were captured Sunday, according to officials.
Johnathan Ellinger, 46, and Dale Clark, 43, had escaped the facility at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
"It was learned through various tips and information gathered that the inmates had stolen a pickup truck from a business in the Concord, N.H., area," a New Hampshire State Police press release stated. "Investigators were able to locate the vehicle before it crossed the border into Vermont."
Agencies assisting the state police included the New Hampshire Department of Corrections, Vermont State Police, and New Hampshire departments from Franklin, Tilton and Chesterfield. Brattleboro police also helped.
Police said Ellinger and Clark were transported back to the prison and they will be charged with escape, theft of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.
