Brattleboro Elks honor four BUHS students


BRATTLEBORO -- Brattleboro Lodge of Elks has honored four students from Brattleboro Union High School as their Students of the Month for February.

Kera Johnson, grade 10, was nominated by Mrs. Margaitis who reports Kera has demonstrated immense improvement. Kera is doing a student placement at Taylor for Flowers who report she is doing a great job. Kera hopes to move on to college following graduation.

Katie Morse, grade 10, was recognized by White House Dean of Students for her choice to recover another stolen property from a student who had stolen it and made sure the property was returned. She hopes to attend a cosmetology program following high school.

Amber Williams, grade 9, is the daughter of Arnie Williams Jr. of Vernon. Amber enjoys singing and hopes to go to health care training and become a Nurse’s Assistant. Amber was nominated for her student citizenship and friendliness toward a new student arriving at the school.

Hunter Brooks, grade 12, is enrolled at the Windham Regional Career Center and was nominated by David Emery, his Protective Services Fire Fighting Instructor. Hunter is described as a highly motivated student with strong leadership skills. Hunter is an Explorer with the Hinsdale (N.H.) Fire Department who enjoys dirt biking. He hopes to become an overhead electrical lineman following graduation.
