Brattleboro Elks Hoop Shoot sends three locals to Finals


BRATTLEBORO -- Three local youths will be headed to Barre to represent the Brattleboro Elks Club B.P.O.E # 1499 this Saturday for the State Finals. The contest is in it’s 43rd year and over three million boys and girls will participate this year.

Gregory Fitzgerald in the 10-11 age category, will try for his second State Title for the boys which resulted in a third place finish in the New England Regionals two years ago. In addition he has won three consecutive local contests.

The girls will feature Natalie Norcia in the 8-9 year age group while her sister, Nicole will be competing in the 12-13 old group.

Players that advance will be competing in Portland, Maine for the New England regionals in February and from there the Nationals in Springfield, Mass. at the NBA Hall of Fame.
