Brattleboro girls, boys are eliminated

MANCHESTER >> The No. 7 Burr and Burton Academy girls ice hockey team got two goals from Aggie Bisselle, her 40th and 41st of the season, in a 3-1 win over No. 10 Brattleboro in a Division 2 playdown game at Riley Rink on Saturday.

Bisselle also assisted Natalia Sowulewska for the third goal for the Bulldogs (8-10-3), who advanced to face No. 2 Mount Mansfield in the quarterfinals today at 5 p.m. Molly Dingley stopped 10 shots for the win in net.

Hannah Curtiss scored for the Colonels, who finished up with a 4-15-2 mark.

Boys Hockey

STOWE >> Fourth-seeded Stowe scored four goals in the opening period en route to a 6-1 victory over No. 13 Brattleboro in a D-2 playdown game on Saturday night.

Chad Haggerty tallied twice for the winners. Jace Boerger, Gabe Eliasson, Andrew Bellavance and Sam Lively also split the posts for the 16-5 Raiders.

Declan Lonergan scored and goalie Nick Perusse made 16 saves for the Colonels, who ended up with a 5-16 mark.
