Brattleboro Goes Fourth prepares for inclement weather

BRATTLEBORO -- Organizers of Brattleboro's Fourth of July parade and Living Memorial Park festivities and fireworks will use to announce any last-minute changes today, and only in the case of severe weather.

The "By the People: Brattleboro Goes Fourth" citizens committee will proceed with its 10 a.m. march even if skies are cloudy or showering. The only reason for cancellation would be thunderstorms or other threats that would endanger participants and the public.

The Brattleboro Recreation & Parks Department will use a similar strategy in deciding whether to change any afternoon or evening festivities and fireworks at Living Memorial Park.

The schedule can't be delayed to a later date because of local permitting, police and liability insurance issues. All participants and spectators are encouraged to check the weather and take caution regarding any unforeseen changes in the forecast.
