Brattleboro man arrested for home invasion

KEENE, N.H. - Loren "Luda" Bedward, age 29, of Brattleboro, was arrested on Friday, June 28 in Keene; he was wanted for aggravated assault with a firearm, stemming from a home invasion that occurred on May 28 in Hartford, Vt.

The U.S. Marshals Service Vermont Violent Offender Task Force arrested Bedward with the help of agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Vermont State Police and the Cheshire County Sheriff's Department.

Bedward stands accused of gaining entrance into a Hartford, Vt., home by pointing a firearm at a victim.

He is being held at the Cheshire County jail as a Fugitive From Justice while he awaits extradition to Vermont.

Bedward's arrest was a result of a culmination of investigative efforts by the U.S. Marshals, ATF, the Hartford Police Department, the Vermont State Police and the Cheshire County Sheriffs Department.
