Brattleboro Masons plan haunted house and cell phone collection for scholarships
BRATTLEBORO -- To raise funds for their scholarship program the Brattleboro Lodge of Masons is collecting used cell phones from the public. The Lodge will be asking members of the public to contact them at 802-254-4801 if they have old cell phones they would like to donate or be collected. These phones will be sent to a recycling firm and the Lodge will apply all proceeds to their scholarship fund.
Old phones may also be donated at the Brattleboro Masons’ Third Annual Haunted House. Brattleboro Masonic Lodge No. 102 will be holding a cell phone collection during the nights of the haunted house event. According to Ron Nichols, Worshipful Master of the lodge, "This is the type of project that walks right in line with the principles we hold dear, and we are happy to mix good stewardship of our environment with a benefit in helping local students get an extra boost when they continue their education beyond high school."
Hours of operation for the haunted house will be Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 19 and 20, and Oct. 26 and 27, from 6 to 10 p.m. Entry will be $5 a person.
