Brattleboro Outing club hosts paddling trips


BRATTLEBORO >> All of the Brattleboro Outing Club's paddle trips are free and open to the public, and are suitable for family canoeing, kayak touring and stand-up paddleboarding.

On Mother's Day, May 8, there will be a paddle and picnic in the Connecticut River Hinsdale, N.H., setbacks. Meet at 10 a.m. in the Walmart parking lot, Rte. 119. There will be a special surprise for paddling mothers. Other paddle trips in May are on May 18, at Herrick's Cove in Rockingham; Wednesday, May 25, Ashuelot River, in Keene, N.H.; and Sunday, May 29, Lowell Lake, in Londonderry. Saturday, May 21, is the date of this year's Canoe & Kayak (also small sailboats, rowing shells and SUPs) Consignment Sale/Swap. Location is 127 Marlboro Rd., West Brattleboro, in the former Mr.G's store. Boats will be accepted on Friday (May 20th) from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m., and also on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 11:30. Bring trailered boats on Saturday. The swap is from 11:30 a.m. to noon with the sale from noon to 2 p.m. Also included in the sale are paddling/sailing and car-top accessories.
