Brattleboro road work update

BRATTLEBORO -- Due to the heavy rains on Thursday, the Brattleboro roadwork schedule has been updated.

On Monday, road paving on Bridge Street will begin at 4 a.m. Expect delays and alternating one lane traffic. Resurfacing on Bullock Street and Whipple Street will also happen on Monday. Each will be closed to through traffic. The final street for resurfacing on Monday will be Williams Street. Alternating one-way traffic and delays can be expected. The order of work could change.

On Tuesday, a crew will be placing base pavement on Old Ferry Road between Glen Orne Drive and the entrance to Windham Solid Waste Management District. Expect alternating one-lane traffic and delays. This crew will then move to Wellington Drive for an overlay from Putney Road to its end. Again, expect alternating one-lane traffic and delays.

A second crew will place the finish pavement on Marlboro Avenue. The street will close to through traffic and motorists should take one of several alternate routes.

On Wednesday, shim and overlay pavement will begin on Quails Hill Road. Expect alternating one-lane traffic and short delays.

On Thursday, a top course pavement will be laid down on Old Ferry Road, with work beginning near Putney Road and continuing to the town line. Motorists and trucks should expect alternating one lane traffic and larger delays with the heavy traffic on this road.

Schedule is weather dependent, and could change once again. Call Public Works at 802-254-4255 for questions on this and other projects.
