BRATTLEBORO -- Activities and menus for the week of Jan. 21 at the Brattleboro Senior Center at 207 Main St. in Brattleboro are as follows:


Senior Center closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.


9:30 a.m., Knitting group.

9:30 a.m., Painting and sequencing with Marilyn.

9:30 a.m., Strength training with Cyndy Gray.

10 a.m., Game Day with Jessy. Bring a favorite game to play.

12:45 p.m., Grocery shopping at Hannaford.


9 a.m., Wednesdays Writers’ Group.

9 a.m., Wiffle ball playing in the gym.

9 a.m., Senior basketball playing.

9:30 a.m., Mixed Media Art Group.

10:15 a.m., Yoga with CB.

10:45 a.m., Line dancing lessons with Richard.

11 a.m., Walking indoors in the gym.

11 a.m., Transportation from Putney.

11:45 a.m., Wayne, Classic Country Music

12:30 p.m., Duplicate bridge.

12:45 p.m., Van trip to Wal-Mart.


9:15 a.m., Senior bowling.

9:30 a.m., Tennis playing at Living Memorial Park.

Upcoming trips

Two groups will be going on a 17-day trip south, from Feb. 11-27. If interested in this Winter Get-Away contact Jesse Cudworth soon, as reservations must be paid for by Jan. 11. The cost of the trip is $2,349 for double and $3,049 for single.

A list of trips for 2013 with Best of Times is now available. Trips being considered are: The Women of Ireland, March 15, featuring dancers and singers; May 14, John Denver Tribute by Ted Vigil, Rocky Mountain High; Sept. 11 Memorial in New York City; West Point Academy and Hudson River Valley; and Lynhurst Castle with dinner theater. Further information will be announced in Senior Travel News and at travel planning sessions in the spring.

Meals menu, served at noon

and Meals-On-Wheels

Monday: Senior Center closed.

Tuesday: Breakfast, 7:45-8:15 a.m., Scrambled eggs with boursin and spinach, vegetable hash with celeriac, turnip and carrots, scone, fruit, juice, yogurt. Lunch: Chicken potpie with biscuit topping, green beans and tomatoes, butternut squash, and a cookie.

Wednesday: Baked ravioli with tomato sauce, steamed broccoli, garlic bread, and mandarin oranges.

Thursday: Liver and onions, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, and honeydew melon.

Friday: Breakfast, 7:45-8:15 a.m., Breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and sausage, home fries, fruit, and yogurt. Lunch: Macaroni and cheese, diced tomatoes, blueberry muffin, and fruited Jell-O.
