BRATTLEBORO -- Activities and menus for the week of Dec. 31-Jan. 5 at the Brattleboro Senior Center at 207 Main St. in Brattleboro are as follows:


10 a.m., Tai Chi with Susan.

10:30 a.m., Practice bridge playing with Anne.

11:30 a.m., Last Night Celebration with Sing, Sing, Swing Entertainment and Potluck Luncheon. Call to reserve space. Senior Center will close after lunch.


Closed for New Year’s Day.


9 a.m., Wednesdays Writers’ Group.

9 a.m., Wiffle ball playing in the gym.

9 a.m., Senior basketball playing.

9:30 a.m., Mixed Media Art Group.

10:15 a.m., Yoga with CB.

10:45 a.m., Line dancing lessons with Richard.

11 a.m., Walking indoors in the gym.

11 a.m., Transportation from Putney.

12:30 p.m., Time Share, Sewing Recycle Material Bags.

12:30 p.m., Duplicate bridge.

12:45 p.m., Van trip to Wal-Mart.


9:15 a.m., Senior bowling.

9:30 a.m., Tennis playing at Living Memorial Park.

9:30 a.m., Knitting group.

9:30 a.m., Strength training with Cyndy Gray.

9:30 a.m., Oil painting with Marilyn.

1-4 p.m., Bridge playing.

1-2:30 p.m., Bocce playing, indoors in the event of inclement weather.


9:30 a.m., Pilates Plus for Seniors with Cyndy Gray.

9:30 a.m., Computer help with Greg Wallin.

10:30 a.m., Table tennis playing.

10:30 a.m., Practice bridge playing with Anne.

12:45 p.m., Van trip to Price Chopper.

Upcoming events

Tuesday, Jan. 8, 10:30 a.m., Travel Experience told by Corrissa Germany.

Thursday, Jan. 10, 11:30 a.m., January birthday celebration; reservation required.


Two groups will be going on a 17-day trip south, from Feb. 11-27. If interested in this Winter Get-Away contact Jesse Cudworth soon, as reservations must be paid for by Jan. 11. The cost of the trip is $2,349 for double and $3,049 for single.

A list of trips for 2013 with Best of Times is now available. Trips being considered are: The Women of Ireland, March 15, featuring dancers and singers; May 14, John Denver Tribute by Ted Vigil, Rocky Mountain High; Sept. 11 Memorial in New York City; West Point Academy and Hudson River Valley; and Lynhurst Castle with dinner theater.

Meals menu, served at noon

and Meals-On-Wheels

Monday: Last Night Celebration, potluck luncheon, call to reserve space.

Tuesday: Senior Center closed.

Wednesday: Hoppin’ John, Harvard beets, corn muffin, mandarin oranges.

Thursday: Italian grinder, Tuscan chicken soup, coleslaw, tropical fruit.

Friday: Breakfast, 7:45-8:15 a.m., Stuffed egg with sausage gravy, scone, potato pancake, fruit, juice, yogurt. Lunch: Baked salmon, rice pilaf, strawberry and spinach salad, pineapple.
