BRATTLEBORO -- Activities and menus for the week of July 1 at the Brattleboro Senior Center at 207 Main St. in Brattleboro are as follows:


10:30 a.m., Practice bridge playing with Anne.

11:45 a.m., Badminton.


9:30 a.m., Softball at Living Memorial Park

9:30 a.m., Knitting group.

9:30 a.m., Painting and sequencing with Marilyn.

9:30 a.m., Strength training with Cyndy Gray.

9:30 a.m., Tennis at Living Memorial Park.

11 a.m., Blood pressure clinic staffed by Rescue Inc.

12:45 p.m., Grocery shopping at Hannaford.


9 a.m., Wednesdays Writers’ Group.

9 a.m., Wiffle ball playing in the gym.

9 a.m., Senior basketball playing.

9:30 a.m., Mixed Media Art Group.

10:45 a.m., Line dancing lessons with Richard.

11 a.m., Transportation from Putney.

12:30 p.m., Duplicate bridge.

12:45 p.m., Van trip to Wal-Mart.

1:30 p.m., Time Share, Sewing Recycle Material Bags.


Senior Center closed in observance of Independence Day.


9:30 a.m., Pilates Plus for Seniors with Cyndy Gray.

10:30 a.m., Table tennis playing.

10:30 a.m., Practice bridge playing with Anne.

12:45 p.m., Van trip to Price Chopper.

Tye’s Tours will sponsor the annual trip to Maine on Aug. 8 and 9. "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat" will be the play at the Ogunquit Playhouse. Lunch at the Weathervane; dinner after at The Lobster Dock; trolley, stroll the beach, swim in the indoor pool at the Hampton Inn in Wells. Second day, sail around Portland Harbor, visit When Pig’s Fly Bread Company. Cost: $279 dbl. or $329 single. Balance for this trip is due on July 8.

Newport Harbor Sail on the two-masted schooner, "Madeline," is set for July 28 from 10:30 a.m. to noon for $109. Depart Browne Court at 7 a.m. and return around 6 p.m. Full buffet at Bahia Gardens. After lunch, visit to the Newport Winery, then a drive along the shore to view the beautiful mansions.

Tye’s Tours offers The Highland Games on Sept. 21, for $99.

Meals menu, served at noon

and Meals-On-Wheels

Monday: Cold salad plate: Chicken salad, gazpacho pasta salad, Harvard beets, fruited Jell-O.

Tuesday: Breakfast, 7:45-8:15 a.m., Whole wheat pancakes, syrup choice, sausage, home fries, fruit, yogurt, juice. Lunch: Grilled cheese and tomato sandwich, sweet potato wedges, green beans, tropical fruit.

Wednesday: Baked ham, baked beans, mixed greens, coleslaw, mango.

Thursday: Closed.

Friday: Breakfast, 7:45-8:15 a.m., Greens, eggs and ham, home fries, fruit juice, yogurt. Lunch: Shrimp Creole, citrus rice, steamed broccoli, cantaloupe.
