Brattleboro Union High School Early Spring Concert


The Brattleboro Union High School Music Department will present an Early Spring Concert on Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. in the B.U.H.S. auditorium. No admission for this event. Featured ensembles include the concert band, jazz band, jazz workshop and Madrigals.

The concert band opens with a planetary-themed program including David Maslanka's fanfare, Mother Earth and two movements from Gustav Holst's suite, The Planets (Mars and Jupiter).

Jazz Workshop performs next, presenting three selections, and the Madrigals add a vocal music component to the concert. Jazz Band closes the concert. Soloists include Kyra Johnston, trumpet, Claire Thomas, tenor sax, Brian McCarthy, alto sax, Jacob Gartenstein, drums, Gabbi Walton, guitar and Ian Epstein, trombone. Stephen Rice directs the concert and jazz band, Patty Meyer leads Madrigals and Eugene Uman and Robert Freeberg direct jazz workshop.
