Brattleboro Walk-In Clinic fundraiser set for Sept. 10


BRATTLEBORO >> It's time for the Brattleboro Walk-In Clinic's 21st annual Walk, Run and Roll Event. It will be held Saturday morning, Sept. 10.

This fundraiser benefits the Brattleboro Walk-In Clinic, whose mission is to provide free health care to those in the community who have no health insurance, are underinsured, or who have other barriers to accessing care.

The clinic is staffed primarily by volunteer providers, nurses and clerical staff. It is located at 81 Belmont Ave. in space donated by Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

Registration and start times for the events are: Roll cycling registration at 7 a.m. with a start at 7:30 a.m.; walk, run and kids fun run registration at 7:45 a.m. with an 8:30 a.m. start for the kids and an 8:45 a.m. start for the 5K walk; and a 9 a.m. start for the 5K run.

Registration is held in front of the hospital between the Richards Building and the front entrance to the hospital. Entrants may register on the day of the race or print the registration forms from, or register on line at Registration forms are available at Burrows Specialized Sports and Brattleboro Pharmacy.

Prizes will be raffled off after the event for participants. The male and female winner of the 5K run will receive a gift certificate for running shoes. The first 100 adults to register receive a free T-shirt.

There is a non-refundable entry fee of $25 for the 5K walk/run event.

There is no fee for children participating in the one-mile kids fun run.

"Walk, Run and Roll" is sanctioned by the New England Association of the U.S.A.T.F. and is a certified course.
