Brattleboro Women’s Chorus sings ‘So Glad I’m Here’
BRATTLEBORO -- The 17th annual fall concerts of the Brattleboro Women’s Chorus will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m., at the First Baptist Church, 190 Main St.
Local women and girls led by the chorus’ founder/director Becky Graber will present songs of pilgrimage and travels of spirit in a concert titled "So Glad I’m Here."
Joining the chorus for the first time will be Molly Steinmark on percussion. Steinmark is an innovative drummer, singer-songwriter and percussionist who got her start at the Brattleboro Music School and in Graber’s Children’s Chorus. She was formerly the vocalist and percussionist with the bands Groove Shoes and Mo Ambesa, and is currently working on her debut CD as a solo artist.
Some of the songs to be performed include an original composition by Graber called "Heaven Above, Earth Below," her arrangements of three pilgrimage songs in a medley, "Om Mata Om Kali," sections of "Preludium" from "The Sound of Music," "So Glad I’m Here" and "Kinderly" as sung by the Medieval Babes.
Tickets are only available at the door and are $10 adult, $15 generous, and $8 students and seniors. For more information, visit www.BrattleboroWomensChorus.org or call 802-254-8994.
